Pets in need Herts CIC terms and conditions
- Recipient must complete a Pets In Need Herts CIC eligibility form.
- Recipient understands they are limited to receiving a 2 to 4 weeks supply of pet food from the program once a month, for a 6 month period, for up to 2 (two) pets (each species ), in the household registered in the program, as resources are available.
- Recipient agrees not to resell, redistribute, or attempt to return to a store any food or care items, or ask friends or family to make a false application to acquire more items from the Pin Herts.
- Recipient understands that the quantity of food received is dependent on the size of the pet registered and will be according to the feeding guidelines of the manufacturer.
- Pin Herts will make every effort to consider special requests for certain formulas or flavours of dog and cat food (ex. senior, indoor, small bites, etc.) but are only able to give what is available at the time.
- Recipient understands that all pet food is donated and may not be the preferred brand or type of choice, which may upset your pet’s stomach.
- Recipient should note on the application any dietary restrictions, allergies, sensitivity, and/or weight control specifications. To the best of our abilities, Pin Herts will consider the aforementioned specifications prior to dispensing food, however; it is the responsibility of the pet owner to exercise judgement when accepting food available at the time of pick up.
- Recipient understands they will not receive additional pet food assistance for any animals obtained during the period they are actively registered in the Pin Herts program. We promote responsible pet ownership.
- Recipient understands that the majority of the donated food available will be close to or past the “Best By” date on the package
- Recipient agrees not to hold the Pets In Need Herts CIC, it’s staff, volunteers or donors legally liable in the event your pet (s) become ill from the change in diet.
- Should the recipient registered in the Pin Herts program violate any of the aforementioned requirements. Pin Herts will terminate pet food assistance immediately, without notice.
- In rare circumstance that our volunteers are abused whilst carrying out their duties, Pin Herts will terminate pet food assistance immediately, without notice. This also applies to any defamatory social media comments. Any incident that we feel is of a threatening or abusive nature will be reported to the police.
- Recipients understands that they must personally pick up their pet food parcels.
- Recipients must provide all documentation needed.
- Photo ID must be of the recipient, genuine and up to date.
- Address must be recipient’s current abode.
- Pet ownership must be dated within the last six months and state recipients name, pets name and recipients address.
- Proof of ownership must be valid and up to date, with receipts current address visible.
- Pets In Need Herts CIC can only deliver if we have the funds available.
- Delivery exemptions are considered if the recipient is disabled, elderly or homeless, if the recipient has no means of collecting from our drop in centre yourself, or by help from family and friends.
- Pin Herts cannot guarantee a delivery time. estimated times are given on the day.
- *Pets In Need Herts CIC will not leave donations on the doorstep or in an external box if you are not at home.
- Pin Herts Volunteers need to be greeted at the doorstep, to ensure our that the pet food has been received by the recipient. This is also to ensure that pet food does not get damaged by rain, stolen.
- If the recipient is immobile and cannot get up to the door, please let us know in advance.
- On the rare occasion, if Pin Herts is unable to help, we will signpost the recipient to local support services for help.
- Recipients’ eligibility documentation are not stored. All documents will be deleted once eligibility process is completed.
